Curtis Ogden is working with Gaia Education to offer a new installment of Energy Systems Science and Practice for Just and Sustainable Communities.
The online course explores how energy moves through living systems, communities, organisations, and social change work. It invites participants to look beyond energy only as a technical or infrastructure question, and to consider how flows of resources, information, relationships, power, and care shape the resilience and vitality of communities.
The course starts on 28 September 2026 and will run over six interactive live sessions across seven weeks. Live classes will take place on Thursdays from 18:00–20:00 UTC, and sessions will be recorded for those who cannot attend live. The expected workload is approximately five hours per week.
This installment will also include recent case studies from work with the Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative and Rural Communities Rising, bringing practical examples into the learning space.
The course may be relevant for practitioners, facilitators, community leaders, organisers, educators, and others working with regenerative practice, community resilience, systems change, and just sustainability transitions.
