A new BIONEXT zine and collection of case studies explore how conflict, justice, participation, and power shape efforts to create nature-positive societies.

Using the metaphor of a compost heap, the resources argue that conflict can create the conditions for transformation when it is acknowledged and worked with constructively. Avoiding conflict, by contrast, may prevent underlying injustices and power imbalances from being addressed.

The materials draw on three European cases: nature-inclusive agriculture in the Netherlands, nature-based healthcare in Belgium, and continuous-cover forestry in Finland. Together, they examine how professionals and policymakers are addressing justice in practice.

The collection includes an illustrated zine, three detailed case studies, and links to further policy resources. The zine can be read online or downloaded, printed, and folded into a physical copy.
