The Early Career Researcher (ECR) Winter School, co-hosted by the Global Change Institute (GCI) at the University of the Witwatersrand, in collaboration with the Transformations Community and Earth System Governance, offers a pre-conference activity for TC/ESG 2025.
Designed for Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral fellows, the Winter School focuses on exploring transformations through the lens of justice and equity. This year, it will take place in Skukuza, Kruger National Park, providing a unique environment for deep intellectual engagement.

We’re offering 20 places, with 10 reserved for African candidates and 10 for the global community. A diverse lineup of academics will lead the sessions, with further details coming soon. Limited scholarships will be available to support participation.
