While we are currently working on developing partnership opportunities that could potentially support travel and accommodation costs, we don’t have a specific answer just yet. However, we will keep you posted with the latest information as it becomes available.
Yes, early bird registration will be available until April 30, offering a 15% discount on ticket prices.

Participation & Proposals
The TC/ESG 2025 Call for Proposals is now closed. The deadline for submission was February 2nd, 2025 and sessions submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Flexible Interactive Dialogue Sessions will vary in format depending on the approach taken by facilitators. However, these sessions will be assessed by the conference review committee on the basis of a single proposal – individual paper abstracts from the speakers in the panel are not required.
The event invites action-oriented researchers and reflective practitioners from diverse sectors, such as academia, government, non-profits, and consulting firms. It seeks individuals committed to fostering sustainable and equitable futures through innovative leadership and participatory methods.
Acceptance of submissions will be communicated via email by March 7, 2025.
Yes, we will provide feedback for all submitted proposals. This ensures that participants receive valuable insights whether or not their proposals are accepted.
Due to overwhelming interest for the in-person conference and limited submissions for an online format, the online program will not move forward.
Event Experience
A transdisciplinary space for scholars, practitioners, and artists to come together in dialogue and practice. Short presentations, long conversations, and practical workshops. We anticipate including field trips and pre or post-conference workshop opportunities. Some conference sessions will be specifically designed to encourage attendance by policymakers and practitioners. A blend of science, arts, and humanities! For the main conference in Africa we are planning to offer: Workshop Days; Gala Dinner; and Offsite Field Trip

Yes, selected sessions will be recorded and available after the event for registered participants.
We’re actively looking into options for attendees to support local sustainability initiatives and community groups during the TC/ESG 2025 Conference. Our focus is on making this event as environmentally responsible as possible, and we’ll share more details soon on how you can contribute.

General Information
The main conference activities will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from August 18th-21st 2025, with pre-conference activities and field trips in Skukuza.
Absolutely! We embrace diversity and inclusivity, and welcome individuals with all types of backgrounds to attend our sessions. To ensure that they are able to participate fully in the conference, it’s important that they also complete the registration process.
The conference is open to all – scholars and practitioners are equally welcome. There are no eligibility restrictions.

All payments are processed in ZAR. Your bank may apply exchange rates if paying from an international account.
Travel & Accommodation
Visa requirements vary by country. Please check with your nearest South African embassy or visit Home Affairs South Africa for visa requirements. If needed, we can provide an official invitation letter to support your visa application. please e-mail info@transformationscommunity.org
We are currently exploring sponsorship opportunities and will announce in due course if we have scholarships available. Any funding will prioritize participation of individuals based in the global South.
The main international gateway is O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg.
For safety and convenience, we recommend using hotel shuttles, Uber, or pre-arranged transport. Car rentals are also available but note that South Africa drives on the left-hand side.
Yes, South Africa welcomes thousands of international visitors each year. However, as with any major city, staying vigilant and using trusted transport and accommodations is advised.
There are no mandatory vaccinations for South Africa, but it is recommended to check with your doctor about routine travel vaccinations. If visiting a malaria-prone area (e.g., Kruger National Park), consult a healthcare provider about malaria prevention.
The currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). Credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are available in all major cities.
