Community organisers across Europe are preparing a week of activities celebrating locally led approaches to a just and sustainable future.
Coordinated by ECOLISE and its partners, the tenth European Day of Sustainable Communities will bring community leaders, policymakers, researchers, civil-society organisations, and citizens together through more than 70 local, regional, and national policy dialogues.
Participants will explore how public policy can better recognise and support community-led solutions. A dedicated toolkit is available for anyone interested in organising a dialogue, and ECOLISE will share ten stories highlighting people working across renewable energy, biodiversity, climate adaptation, circular economies, food, housing, water, and the arts.
Dates: 21–27 September 2026
