Apply: The Resilience of Urban Social-Ecological-Technological Systems

The Society for Social-Ecological Systems is accepting applications for its 2026 online short course, The Resilience of Urban Social-Ecological-Technological Systems.

Over five days, participants will explore urban resilience through social, ecological, infrastructural, and technological perspectives. The programme will draw on the expertise of leading international scholars working on cities, resilience, social-ecological-technological systems, infrastructure, governance, and sustainability transformations.

The course is open to postgraduate students and early-career researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds. SocSES is seeking a geographically and intellectually diverse cohort, and a limited number of fee waivers are available for participants from the Global South.

Course dates: 19–23 October 2026
Format: Online, with two or three synchronous sessions each day
