In 2024, we hosted five key events for our AI for Sustainability Transformations initiative, focusing on the intersections of AI, societal change, and knowledge co-production. These included Critical AI Literacy for Action Researchers, Participatory AI for Community Engagement, Indigenous Perspectives, and showcasing AI’s potential at the SRI Congress. Each event emphasized inclusive and ethical AI pathways.

Main activities will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, with pre-conference workshops, field trips, and the ECR Winter School hosted in Kruger National Park for a unique mix of natural & urban experiences. 📢 Proposal deadline extended to February 2, 2025!

We are excited to announce the first Transformations Community X (TCX) event, from June 25-27, 2025. Hosted by the University of York, Organising for Transformation focuses on research and practice supported by experiential workshops. Themes include leadership, governance evaluation, and learning, as well as insights from an applied regional case study of the transdisciplinary FixOurFood program.

We are thrilled to announce that, for the first time in Africa, the Transformations Conference will be held in collaboration with ESG. This premier event is for changemakers, thought leaders, and innovators dedicated to creating a sustainable and equitable future.
