In a recent session, key stakeholders from various organizations gathered to explore the intersection of AI, Indigenous knowledge systems, and community-driven design. The event was moderated by Bruce Goldstein (Transformations Community) and Nick Graham (Transformations Community), with a presentation by Vanessa Raymond (Indigenous AI Working Group). Discussions centered on how AI can be ethically designed and applied in socially and environmentally responsible ways, rooted in Indigenous protocols and values such as reciprocity, responsibility, and respect.

Vanessa Raymond is the Director of Research Operations for the Indigenous-led Abundant Intelligences program at the Indigenous Futures Research Center in Montreal. A socio-technologist passionate about community, technology, and the environment, she excels at building teams and creating data systems that promote equity and justice. Vanessa also serves as Matai (chief) for Solosolo Village.
