The Transformations Community is a global consortium of action-researchers and reflective practitioners advancing transformations toward equitable, sustainable and regenerative futures. The community spans diverse sectors and disciplines, ranging from academic programs and initiatives focused on sustainability, to government bodies, non-profit organizations and consulting firms. The Transformations community has been a nexus for transformative thought and action since its inception in 2013.
A Conference Series &
Community Of Practice
The Transformations Community is a generative space and a catalyzing force for sustainability research and practice. Our global community of transformation “pracademics” (both practitioner and researcher) is responding to a growing recognition that we need new approaches to address climate change and other existential threats to social-ecological systems.
Transformations Conference 2025
The Transformations Community/Earth System Governance Conference 2025 is held in Johannesburg, South Africa, August 18-21, 2025. Theme: Navigating Sustainability Transformations towards Justice and Equity
The TCX-YORK conference will be held in York, England, from June 25-27, 2025. Hosted by the University of York, this event is a lead-up to the TC/ESG25 conference. Theme: Organizing for Transformations.
TCX is an experimental extension of the Transformations Community, focused on action-driven research and collaboration. TCX includes workshops, discussions, and partnerships across various communities.
